Over 100 Activists to Participate In Planning and Organizing Summit in Washington, DC for Upcoming AIDS March
AIDSVote.org and leading national and local AIDS groups are participating in
a two-day planning and organizing summit for a national and international March
to End AIDS that will kick off in mid-April 2005 and converge on Washington
DC for four days of action, support and prayer on May 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The big question that AIDS activists are asking is "How do we draw upon
our collective wisdom, strength, passion and drive to structure, implement and
deliver all that is needed to bring into BEING the March to End AIDS in a manner
that revitalizes and mobilizes the AIDS activist movement across the United
States?"
Representatives from twenty-four states and the District of Columbia have initially
signed on to help organize AIDS March, including activists from Alabama, California,
Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts,
Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma,
Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
