Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate delayed a scheduled vote on the Smith-Bingaman amendment that would strike Medicaid cuts out of the Senate budget resolution -- the vote will take place on Thursday, giving leaders another day to cut back-room deals and Medicaid advocates another day to get people like you to work the phones.
Alright everybody, one more time: call your Senator toll free at 800-828-0498 or 877-762-8762 and tell them:
"I am calling to urge you to support the Smith-Bingaman amendment, which will strike the cuts to Medicaid from the Budget Resolution. Medicaid is the single largest source of funding for HIV/AIDS care in America, and hundreds of thousands of people living with AIDS and HIV depend on it. It's a life-and-death issue for people with AIDS -- I oppose any attempts to weaken Medicaid."
