It's up to him

Did you know that over half of all new HIV infections occur in young people under the age of 25?

Did you know that New York State does NOT provide any funding for comprehensive sex education?

New York public school students are not getting the education they need to protect themselves against HIV, STIs, and unplanned pregnancies. Twenty-five years after the AIDS epidemic began, our state is still failing New York youth by not teaching them honest and factual information and negotiation skills about sex.

Housing Works and dozens of other AIDS, youth, choice and health groups around the state are supporting the Healthy Teens Act, which would create funding for comprehensive sex education in New York State.

One man can decide if the Healthy Teens Act gets to the floor of the State Senate: Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno. Call him today at (518)455-3191 and say:

"Hello. I'm calling to ask Senator Bruno to bring the Healthy Teens Act to the Senate floor for a vote. The bill number is S.1342. Thank you."

Thanks to our friends at CHAMP, FPA and all the other groups working on Healthy Teens for boosting the bill with this phone zap.
