On behalf of the Housing Works family, I would like to ask you to reflect on this World AIDS Day by supporting our efforts to provide life-saving services for homeless men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS. Please consider an online donation to Housing Works before the end of the year at www.housingworks.org. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
As you know, our mission is to reach the most vulnerable and under-served among those affected by the AIDS epidemic—those struggling with homelessness, chronic mental illness, chemical dependence and incarceration—and to help them gain stability, independence and dignity while improving their overall health.
Since 1990, Housing Works has provided services to over 20,000 HIV-positive individuals and their families from all five boroughs of New York City while engaging in advocacy, organizing, and public policy leadership on a citywide, statewide, and nationwide basis. With your help, we can do more:
- A $25 gift provides one full week of hot meals for a client at the Women's Health Center.
- $50 covers transportation and basic clothing for job training.
- $100 sponsors a person living with HIV/AIDS to engage in activism to fight stigma and discrimination in New York and around the United States.
- $200 supports the participation of a client's child in our Summer Youth Enrichment Program.
- $1,000 sustains two weeks of supportive AIDS housing.
Gifts of $500 or more qualify you as a major donor—with a listing in our annual report. All contributions support our ongoing efforts to end the twin crises of AIDS and homelessness.
Once again, thank you for your continued generosity.
Sincerely,
Charles King
President and CEO
Housing Works
